It began as skirmishes between groups of inquisitors and their followers. But the unleashed powers of Fire and Darkness after the Rupture soon made the feud into a full force war.
Baron Grimaldi, a master inquistor hailing from the sword coast was the first among the fighting lords that enhanced his force with the assistance of Darkness. How a once pious man such as the Baron came to be so enchanted by the Dark is unknown, but it is commonly accepted that his taken Noble Blood power opened his heart to evil. Marching an army of Hobgoblin warriors onto the fields of battle he lay waste to the Dale of Angrimar. Defeating the armies of his former brother-inquisitor Hymlin of Hillsfar. This battle saw the beginning of the war in earnest.
The Blood War ended on the fields near the Hyvahrah River. Three great armies where in battle. Tales have it that the death of an Elvish Princess and follower of Fire caused the explosive birth of an avatar of Fire itself. In a blast not seen since the Rupture, but more localized, the armies lay defeated. What few survivors remained to tell of the distruction cowered back to their homes. The Inquistion was no more. And relative peace came over the lands. The Noble Blood seemed all but extinct. The birth of Fire may have consumed all the powers of the Blood.
